I’m giving LINSTOR a try and want to install it. How many nodes are required at least? I did not find an answer to that questions in the documentation.
Does a two node system suffice? Or do I need at least a third (maybe diskless) node for linstor to work?
For testing I’d like to use an existing 2 Node Proxmox VE-Cluster (with quorum device).
TLDR: You can use your two existing Proxmox VE nodes to test LINSTOR.
Technically, only one node is required for LINSTOR to be able to provision volumes. A combined type LINSTOR controller + satellite could be used as a storage plugin for Proxmox VE.
You would need three nodes to enable quorum based rules for the replicated DRBD devices.
Could you do something like below to setup a two node cluster that has storage? I am looking at doing something similar where I have two nodes that have 10g direct links plus a single 1g adapter and storage that I would use and a 3rd node that doesn’t have storage and would just house the controller. Would that prevent the split brain and have quorum based rules for replicated DRBD devices, or do I need quorum based rules if I just do a replica of 2?
